History: Lake Community Church

The Salvation Army Lake Community Church - Forest Lake began in 1998 when Liam Glover felt the call of God to plant a church Lake Community Church Logoin the rapidly-growing, master-planned community of Forest Lake. With his wife Rachel, he began this ministry whilst still working full-time in other employment.

In 1999, Liam left his place of work to take up full-time ministry at Lake Community Church. In the years since, Liam and Rachel have seen the church grow from an attendance of less than 10, to a thriving community of over 100 regular worshippers.

From originally meeting in the chapel of Forest Lake College on Sunday afternoons, to a small performance hall at Forest Lake State High School, Lake Community Church now meets in its own facility, opened in 2005. The centre includes a function room, 2 smaller meeting rooms, and a commercial coffee shop serving Gloria Jean's coffees and a range of hot food and cakes.
